I have over the past two years completed two Home Study writing courses, one on journalism and the other on ‘Making the Most of your Life Experiences’. I also attended the 2007 Writer’s Summer School at Swanwick, and in November a Master Class in travel writing at the Royal Geographical Society in London. Some of my articles have been published. I submitted two stories to the BBC People’s War site, where one was awarded a star as recommended reading. I have a story in the current mappazine, Ken360, a project run by Luce Choules of www.foldedsheet.com I also have a story on www.travelmag.com posted on 22nd January, 2008. For many years I have acted as Anna’s PA and PR person and have written many reports on her exploits for all the local newspapers and for local BBC and Midlands glossy magazines, as well as for American publications. I have met some really wonderful people through Anna and I intend to remain active for as long as possible. I proof-read for an outdoors magazine and occasionally for a Finnish outdoor magazine and I proofread the English translation of a beautiful book about the Finnish Airborne Rangers Club’s successful unsupported crossing to the North Pole in 2006.
