I stand looking out of my window.
The cars come, one after the other.
They won't park in town because of the fee
So they take over our road - traffic congestion.
Tuesday's the worst and Friday's quite bad.
We can identify the ones that will stay all day.
When our visitors arrive, they have nowhere to park
Except far down the road and having to walk.
We've complained to the council, police and traffic wardens.
No one can help, till there's a breach of the law.
Sometimes someone parks on the pavement.
When we complain, they are fined five pounds.
Once I was angry when I looked out.
Someone was blocking my drive.
The warden just told me to drive on the path
And manoeuvre along till I discovered a gap.
Complaining loudly when he was fined,
He offered no word of apology.
Cannock's traffic problems aren't unique.
But I think we merit a council tax cut.
